The main campus is situated in the heart of the Brisbane CBD, located within the iconic Queen Street Mall. We have modern and stylish theory classrooms that offer a relaxed learning environment, as well as dedicated study and resource rooms.
The college also has several vocational placement venues in and around the city and the outer suburbs of Brisbane. The restaurants are part of the Mantle Group, and it is during vocational placement that students can apply their knowledge into real-world situations.
Mayfair College has been a registered training organisation (RTO) since 2005, delivering nationally accredited qualifications, industry recognised short courses and regulatory licensing courses to the hospitality industry; this includes front of house and kitchen operations.
The College has a clear focus on delivering these courses and qualifications under the guidelines of the VET Quality Framework. This includes a clear mandate of ensuring the College remains compliant with the standards for national registered training organisations and ensuring students are given every opportunity to succeed with their training.
Our training and assessment strategies are based on close interaction with industry groups and stakeholders to ensure all training and education is relevant and adaptable to the demands of industry. The College has been successful at achieving this through its alliance with Mantle Group Hospitality. Mantle Group consists of 17 well established restaurants and cafes throughout the Brisbane area: iconic brands such as Jimmy’s on the Mall, Pig ‘N’ Whistle, The Charming Squire, Tai Tai, Phuc Deli, Babylon Brisbane and more.
We also have modern, fully equipped state-of-the-art training facilities within 30 minutes of the main campus (driving or public transport). The fully functional bar and events restaurant offers our front-of-house students the chance to participate in hands-on practical training, as well as the opportunity to practice and develop their skills with food and beverage service.
Students studying on our commercial cookery courses also get an opportunity to utilise their culinary studies, with access to the fully equipped commercial kitchen. This modern kitchen allows multiple students to practice and develop their skills and culinary creativity. The students will be providing a lunch service to the community and non-for-profit organisations.
